This response from one of the shepherds on the hilltop, in the wake of the angelic appearance, paved the way for his companions to lay eyes on the Infant King.  We will reflect on the encouraging word, on invitation and response as we journey towards the celebration of the Christmas reality.

 

Fr Vincent Sherlock is a priest of the Diocese of Achonry and Parish Priest of Tubbercurry-Cloonacool Parish in Co. Sligo.  Ordained in 1987, most of his ministry has been in parishes in counties Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.  Through the years he has been involved in retreat work, mainly with priests of Irish Dioceses and Missionary Orders but also in retreat centres and convents throughout the country.  He has written a number of booklets on themes around Holy Week, Advent, The Rosary and Stations of The Cross.  He writes a regular article for the Irish Catholic and write also for the Messenger magazine.
