Praying together the letter to the Philippians

For this Lectio Divina retreat, we will take the letter to the Philippians as our main text. In the letter, we see Paul, now an old man, still full of apostolic vigour and even joy. Philippians is a real letter, reflecting “the joys and hopes, the grief and anguish,” which marked the lives of both the recipients and the writer.  Their experience, faith and resilience can help us on our own journey two thousand years later.

The retreat offers times of meditation, Lectio Divina, daily Eucharist and time alone.

 

Fr. Kieran O’Mahony OSA is an Augustinian friar and biblical scholar. He is coordinator of biblical studies with the Dublin Archdiocese and is well-known for his very popular Weekly Notes – an email resource for each week’s readings throughout the year.
